Neurosciences Area at germans Trias Hospital
She holds a Medicine and Surgery degree from the University of Zaragoza and specialized in Neurology at the 12 de Octubre Hospital in Madrid. She was specialist at the Neurology Department at the Hospital de la Princesa in Madrid, with a FIS scholarship for extended studies that allowed her to spend a year working at the Neuroimmunology Unit in Yale's New Haven Hospital, in the US. Since 2003, she has been a specialist at Germans Trias Hospital, where she heads the Demyelinating Diseases Unit. Cum Laude doctorate by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
She directs a multidisciplinary research team centered in the study and development of innovative therapeutic programs for multiple sclerosis patients. This team collaborates with other departments in the hospital and with other national and international health care institutions. She has published about 30 original articles on multiple sclerosis in specialized publications and has given several lectures about this disease in national and international conferences. She is a member of the Germans Trias Clinical Research Ethics and Biologicals Committee. She teaches as well in several medical institutions. She has been president of the Madrid Association of Neurology, coordinator of the SEN Multiple Sclerosis group and SEN's second vice president.
