Germans Trias Institute
The Germans Trias Institute is a public research centre whose purpose is to contribute to improve the health of people through scientific knowledge and knowledge transfer. Certified as a CERCA centre by the Generalitat de Catalunya and as a centre of excellence by the Spanish goverment's Carlos III Health Institute, it is the Germans Trias Hospital's umbrella research centre.
The Institute has its headquarters in differents buildings in the upper part of the Can Ruti Campus, and it is strongly associated with the other institutions carrying out biomedical research:l'Institut Català d'Oncologia (ICO), l'Institut de Recerca de la Sida IrsiCaixa, la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), l'Institut Guttmann, l'Institut de Recerca contra la Leucèmia Josep Carreras (IJC), la Fundació Lluita contra les Infeccions (FLI), el Banc de Sang i Teixits de Catalunya (BST) and theCentre d'Estudis Epidemiològics sobre les Infeccions de Transmissió Sexual i Sida de Catalunya (CEEISCAT).
