Neurosciences Area at germans Trias Hospital

 

Degree in Medicine and Surgery by the University of Oviedo (Spain). Neurology specialty at Germans Trias Hospital. When she finished her specialty, she obtained a Río-Hortega training research contract, co-funded by the Spanish government's Carlos III Institute of Health and the Germans Trias Institute. This allowed her to enjoy training stays at the Medical University Hospital of South Carolina – MUSC - in Charleston, and the neurovascular research lab at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona. Her research training has focused in cerebrovascular diseases and, especially, intracranial atherosclerosis and primary prevention of storks. In this regard, she has served as coordinator of the population-based Barcelona-AsIA study.

Doctorate by the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She has official certification for her training in Neurosonology by the Spanish Association of Neurosonology (SONES).She has been a teacher at the School of Health Sciences of Blanquerna University in Barcelona. She is author and co-author of more than thirty articles published in national and international magazines and more than seventy communications in conferences. She is a researcher member of the Research Thematic Network (RETICS) for strokes (INVICTUS) of the Spanish government's Carlos III Institute of Health.Besides doing research work, she engages in clinical practice at the Stroke Unit at Germans Trias Hospital thanks to a Joan Rodés contract by the Carlos III Institute.
