Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery, University of Peru and Intensive Care Medicine specialist. Doctor in Medicine and Surgery with the thesis "Post-op predictive factors in esophageal cancer" (Factores Pronósticos del Postoperatorio en el Cáncer de Esófago). His main areas of interest are: critical patient infectious pathology and sepsis and septic schock.

Associate lecturer in the UAB School of Medicine at the Can Ruti Campus, where he teaches the sixth year Urgent and Emergency Care course. He also teaches postgraduate courses at the UAB. Visiting lecturer of the Advanced Life Support course for first year residents, and postgraduate Medical Sciences lecturer at the National University of Trujillo, Perú.

Extensive research activities, with studies such as intracellular life cycle characteristics of the Staphylococcus aureus with a state fellowship from the Carlos III Health Institute. Multicentric studies on treatment efficacy and safety. Also, research on septic patient myocardial dysfunction and on electroencephalogramme in patient evaluation after recovered cardiorespiratory arrest.

Member of the Catalan Society of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine and the Spanish Society of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine and Coronary Units.
