Neurology specialist at the Santa Creu i de Sant Pau Hospital (University of Barcelona). Intern between 1984 and 1986 at the UAB's Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department, where he developed biochemical techniques for the diagnosis of metabolic and mitochondrial myopathies for the first time in Catalonia and Spain. PhD from Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Member of the Neurology team at Germans Trias since 1989.Head of the Neuromuscular, Functional Tests and Intraoperative Monitoring unit. Associate professor of Neurology at the UAB and mentor in the resident training program.

He has developed several research projects on neuromuscular pathologies and collaborates with several state research groups. He has directed several doctoral theses and dissertations and is the author of more than forty articles and book chapters. He was vice-president and president of the Catalan Association of Neurology between 2003 and 2006.
