Dr. Laura Dorado graduated in Medicine at the Central University of Barcelona (UB) in 2001. She obtained the title of specialist in Neurology in 2006 after living at the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (HUGTiP).


She obtained a competitive grant from the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) for the recruitment of new research staff for three years (2009-FI DGR 2010) with the project that has subsequently been the reason for her doctoral thesis (relation of metabolic syndrome with the prognosis of acute ischaemic stroke). He obtained a PhD degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2012.


She is a researcher member of the cerebrovascular diseases research group funded by the Carlos III Health Institute (RICORS) and the AGAUR-funded neurovascular research group (SGR 1520).


In 2018 she accepted the challenge of leading and developing the Cefalea Unit of the Department of Neurosciences, as well as organizing the different levels of care in the care of the head of the HUGTIP reference area. Currently, it dedicates most of its healthcare activity to the field of cephalae; the HUGTiP Cephalea Unit has more than 300 first visits/year, more than 700 visits/year follow-up, more than 600 visits for invasive or advanced treatments (botulin toxin, anesthetic blockages, monoclonal antibodies) and has started participation in academic research and projects


She is a member of the Spanish Neurology Society (SEN), the Spanish Neurosonology Society (SONES) and the cephalae study group of the Spanish Neurosonology Society (GECSEN). She is also the secretary of the cephalae study group of the Catalan Society of Neurology (SCN).
