Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Intensive Care Medicine specialist. Doctor in Medicine and Surgery with the thesis "Predictive analysis of the critical patient" (Anàlisi pronòstica del malalt crític). Medical director of the International Centre of Advanced Medicine between 2011 and 2012. Vicepresident of the Catalan Medical Association between 1990 and 1992.

Associate lecturer in the UAB School of Medicine at the Can Ruti Campus, where he teaches the sixth year Urgent and Emergency Care course. He also teaches postgraduate doctorate courses. Cardiorespiratory hemodynamics lecturer at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra Nursing School. Consultant for the Clinical Medicine journal (Medicina Clínica).
