Conducting research at Germans Trias

Biomedical research is closely linked to the continuous improvement of people's health.

The research carried out by hospital professionals is channelled through the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), a public research centre located in Badalona (Barcelonès), whose main objective is to increase scientific knowledge and transform it into solutions that improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.

The Institute is associated with the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital and is part of the Can Ruti biomedical campus. It is a CERCA centre and is also accredited as a centre of excellence by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII), being responsible for coordinating research management and the scientific strategy of the campus, working closely with other centres located there.

The Germans Trias Institute also has its own non-clinical staff and serves as an umbrella for the research activities of other institutions on the Can Ruti Campus. To learn more about it, click on the topic that interests you most or consult the Research section.
